Confused by the intolerance

Dear Editor:

Dan Sheridan, one of the kindest, most generous, talented local songwriters that I have had the pleasure to know, wrote a song full of truth – this much I know. He is fired for singing that song, upon request, because an Aspen Skiing Co. vice president in the audience found the song offensive – this much I read in the paper. Is there something more to this story – this much I wonder. If not, then common sense and sensible employee/employer relations have been replaced by a profoundly disturbing act of intolerance.

Why Skico, did you simply ask Dan Sheridan to not play that song?
