Confused by Skico decisions

Dear Editor:

As a part-time resident, I have not always agreed with Mick but I have always been impressed by his integrity and honesty. Watching him the other night on TV, one could not escape the tremendous concern he possesses for the average working person in Aspen. God bless you, Mick!

On another note, my son has worked for the Aspen Skiing Co. for 15 years and has always spoken highly of the company’s CEO, Mike Kaplan. But one cannot wonder at the direction the hotels division has taken recently?

After the firing debacle of Dan Sheridan by the coward who has never come forward, with the subsequent muzzling of his song about the wealthy, I was astounded to learn that the Skico’s three hotels are now censoring the Aspen Daily News from their hotel outlets. Seriously? No! Really?

I called all three establishments only to find out that Steve Skinner was not kidding today. Some genius in the hospitality division really has censored the paper! Whatever happened to the Aspen Idea that the Paepcke’s propagated – mind, body and spirit? And yet 50 Cent can sing songs whose lyrics denigrate women and homosexuals at Buttermilk? I’m really confused here.
