Conflict of interest

Snowmass Village Town Councilman Arnie Mordkin continues to support the special interest groups who are attempting to persuade the majority to originate the new Sam’s Knob Lift from the Snowmass Mall rather than from Base Village.

For all the reasons that have been articulated in previous letters to the editor by many skiers, including Mel Blumenthal and the undersigned, his position is totally without merit.

The inconvenience that would be caused for so many totally outweighs any benefit to the mall, which is at best speculative.

Councilman Mordkin has a clear conflict of interest and should remove himself from voting on this issue if he cannot focus on what is best for the skiing customer.
