Compassionate justice needed

Dear Editor:

Deputy sheriffs from Pitkin County avoid bloodbaths with use of intelligence and patience rather than violence.

Dear FBI and DEA, can you grasp the full meaning of this headline? For the past 30 years the sheriffs of Pitkin County have preached and utilized this enlightened form of law enforcement. Residents of Aspen, the next time you see a deputy sheriff, give him or her a kiss.
