Community rallies for two of its own

Dear Editor:

On behalf of Terry Kappeli, Spencer Cleveland and their families, we would like to thank the friends and businesses of the Roaring Fork Valley for their good thoughts and generosity for helping Terry and Spencer through their treatments. The benefit during the Basalt and Aspen basketball games Feb. 16 showed just how this valley joins together when one of its own is in need. Sometimes we forget just how special this valley is.

Both Terry and Spencer are undergoing their chemo treatments and are very optimistic on their outcomes.

We would like to extend a special “thank you” to Debbie Alcorta for her hard work in organizing this event, along with the time and dedication of Lauren Redfern, the Basalt Booster Club and Basalt High School staff and administration.

Thank you all so much!

The Kappeli and Cleveland families
