Aspen’s year round population is 6,307. The maximum occupancy including visitors has been estimated at 30,000 during peak season in the greater Aspen area.
Aspen has accommodations for about 9,000 in its lodges, condominiums and hotels. Its restaurants offer an array of cuisine, from simple fare to fine gourmet dining, plus lots of bars and nightclubs. Numerous shops and boutiques give new meaning to the phrase “power shopping.” For those seeking vacation lodging, seasonal brochures are available which list all the properties in the resort. Wintertime occupancy rates may run over 90 percent. Summer weekends are typically sold out during July and August. We recommend making reservations early.
