Community Fund helps all

Dear Editor:

The Healthy Community Fund has provided a stable, essential source of funding to local nonprofit organizations that offer critical health and human services to Pitkin County’s residents and workers. The nonprofits supported by the Healthy Community Fund help children and adults in our community stay healthy, safe and productive, strengthening and enriching the quality of life for everyone in Pitkin County.

Since 2002, the Healthy Community Fund has enabled the Roaring Fork Family Resource Centers to help ensure that all children in the Roaring Fork School District come to school healthy and able to succeed. Whether making sure a third-grader gets a painful cavity filled, or helping to arrange for a teenager’s surgery at the hospital, the Roaring Fork Family Resource Centers would not be able to safeguard children’s health without this essential support from Pitkin County.

This fall, by voting YES on 1A, the voters of Pitkin County have an opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of our valley’s most vulnerable residents. Please vote YES on 1A to renew the Healthy Community Fund.

Janet Earley, Jenny Lindsay and Kerry Ach

Directors, Roaring Fork Family Resource Centers
