Dear Editor:The lemonade stand for Challenge Aspen on June 26-27 and July 4 was a huge success! I would like to thank Paradise Bakery and Mark Patterson, who generously donated all the lemonade we could sell. A big thank-you also goes out to the fantastic staff at the Paradise Bakery Aspen store, particularly Sabrina, Aksana and Lindsay – everyone was so helpful and friendly on Paradise’s busiest day of the year! Thanks also to Weststar Bank and Lisa Stephen for letting us use the bank’s prime real estate on the comer of Mill and Main Streets, without which we would not have collected such a surprising number of donations. To Darren and The Cantina, thank you for the unlimited supply of water. In addition, Mardell Burkholder, executive director of Challenge Aspen, was a huge help in organizing tables, chairs and banners for the event.I also appreciate the dedication of volunteers Dusty, Christian, Laurence, Meris and Eric – from hauling water to helping with car trouble, this lemonade stand was a success because of you.To everyone who made donations ranging from spare change to big bucks, I thank you, and Challenge Aspen thanks you as well. Your support makes a difference to so many residents and visitors to this community.Alexis M. Diaz board of directorsChallenge Aspen
