Committee ready to defeat hydroelectric

Dear Editor:

An issue committee has been formed to oppose the November ballot measure about Castle Creek hydroelectric.

For those who are not aware, the city of Aspen has put a measure on the November ballot seeking approval to complete the project. Our committee opposes completion of the project on environmental and financial grounds. We will disseminate a great deal of information about why it is not in the best interests of Aspen residents to complete the project. We also will disseminate information about why the project could be devastating to the ecosystems of stretches of Castle Creek and Maroon Creek.

Anyone who wants information or would like to support our committee’s efforts should contact us at cits4responsibleprojects@gmail.com.
