Austin's Asylum Street Spankers bring their mostly acoustic mix and match of country blues, jump jazz, ragtime, vaudeville, hip-hop (and hick-hop), TV theme songs and more to Steve's Guitars on April 23. (Courtesy Asylum Street Spankers)

This week brings Drew and Tammy Gosnell to Steves Guitars in Carbondale, followed by Charly Simmons and Justin Gordon, and a two-night stand by local humorist Barry Smith.Shows start at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are sold at the door. Admission is typically $10, but sometimes, a donation at the door will do. Tickets are $25, though, for the Aslyum Street Spankers on April 23 a “premium show” that will have limited seating. Explains Steve: “They put on a great show last year in our room but we didn’t even have enough stage room for this seven-piece band. This time we can expand the stage and see them the right way with all the talented folks ‘on stage.’ ” Steve’s is taking reservations for the Spankers’ show by email or phone (379-3625/963-3304) over the next week.
