Coming soon: hard work

Dear Editor:

While the results of Tuesday’s RFSD election are unofficial, I believe they are conclusive enough to warrant a thank-you from me to the people who supported me in the campaign, voted for me, and gave me guidance as I prepared for the campaign. The hard work begins shortly. I look forward to working with other board members, district office staff, parents, principals and teachers in our schools.

During my campaign, I promised to listen and respond promptly on issues in front of the district. I will keep this pledge. Furthermore, many of the issues raised in the campaign, by all candidates, need to be addressed as we progress forward and to build on the work that has begun on some issues.

Lastly, I want to thank Bruce and Brad for their work on the board. They gave an enormous amount of their time and effort as board members to the schools and the children. The fact we may differ, in some areas, on how to achieve the district’s goals in no way diminishes the contributions and commitments they selflessly made. I believe our society is strong because although we might have common goals we also have an opportunity to differ on how we achieve these goals in a civil manner.
