The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and HBO have announced that the 2005 festival will be held in Aspen Feb. 9-13.Next year’s festival marks the 11th year the event has been held in Aspen – every year since its inception in 1995.”We are extremely excited to return to Aspen for year 11. Many thanks to the city of Aspen, the Wheeler Opera House, Little Nell, St. Regis, Hotel Jerome, Sky Hotel and all of our other lodging partners in making this happen,” said Joe Lang, director of communications & operations for the USCAF, which is sponsored by HBO.”With the renovation to the St. Regis, the footprint of the festival will have to change, and we look forward to the challenge of creating some new venues.” The USCAF includes tributes to established comedians, performances by up-and-coming comedic artists and the Film Discovery Program. Last year’s 10th anniversary festival featured the presentation of the AFI Star Award to Diane Keaton; the presentation of the AFI Filmmaker Award to Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, co-directors of “Airplane!” events focused on “Sex and the City” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and screenings of “Super Size Me,” “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Garden State.” Past performers include George Carlin, Eddie Izzard, Jack Black and the casts of Monty Python and “Animal House.”For further information, go to
