Come out and support Basalt High
August 28, 2010
Basalt High School is taking on a new challenge in the first few weeks of the school year. We are trying to plan our Homecoming in two weeks instead of four. To make this an amazing event, we are trying to interact with our community to get a bigger crowd to come out and support our school during Homecoming week.
The Homecoming dance will be held from 8-11 p.m. Sept. 11 at Basalt High School. Leading up to the dance, we will put on some small, but extremely entertaining activities for people to come out and watch. On Wednesday, Sept. 8, we will be hosting Powder Puff Football, where the girls play football at 5:45 p.m. Following that will be Brutte Volleyball for the boys at 6:45 p.m., and a massive bonfire from 7:45-9:15 p.m. All events will be held at Basalt High School.
These games are a great way for community members and parents to become more involved with our school. As for sports, the golf team will be traveling to Steamboat to play a tournament on Wednesday. On Thursday, the boys soccer team will have a home game at 4 p.m. against Coal Ridge. On Friday, there will be a parade in downtown Basalt at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate all grades, sports, and clubs. Everyone is encouraged to come out and celebrate with us. Our Homecoming football game will be against Rangley at 7:30 p.m. on our home field.
On Homecoming Saturday, the cross country team hosts a meet here at the high school at 9:30 a.m. The volleyball game will be at 11 a.m. in the Basalt High School gym against Olathe. As a school, we hope to see community members and parents supporting Basalt High School in our Homecoming week. Hope to see you there!
