Columbine remark was in bad taste
Dear Editor:
It would be in good taste for Sgt. Stu Curry to apologize for his comments regarding the Basalt juvenile planned kidnapping (“Basalt juveniles planned to kidnap man, let him starve,” April 21, The Aspen Times).
His comment “It’s that kind of Columbine stuff” is completely out of line and in bad taste. Thirteen years ago, my Jefferson County high school was on lock-down during the Columbine High School shootings. That point aside, for him to compare a kidnapping and assault plan to that day on April 20, 1999 when 13 people were killed is heartless.
Choose your words wisely, Sgt. Curry, before speaking about “stuff.”
