Colorado Mountain College will offer a new bachelor’s degree program in biological sciences beginning in fall 2026.
The Bachelor of Science in biological sciences was unanimously approved by the Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees during its May meeting and marks the college’s ninth bachelor’s degree program. The degree, which will officially be available in fall 2026 pending accreditation, will be offered at the college’s campuses in Steamboat Springs and Breckenridge.
Colorado Mountain College President Matt Gianneschi said the college sees the degree as a pathway for students to enter high-wage professions like medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology and environmental science without having to leave their communities. Core degree classes include molecular biology, genetics, physiology and biochemistry.
Though still one year away, students can start earning prerequisites for the degree by enrolling in the college’s Associate of Science program with an emphasis in health science.
