Colorado Mountain Club seeks volunteers for trail work

ASPEN – The Colorado Mountain Club is seeking volunteers for trail maintenance and enhancement planned near Buckskin and Willow passes in August.

The first project will be Aug. 8 through 11, and the second will be Aug. 13 through 16. The work will be performed in partnership with Basalt-based Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and the U.S. Forest Service’s Aspen-Sopris Ranger District.

No previous trail-work experience is necessary, but volunteers must have backpacking experience. The minimum age is 14. The crews will establish a low-impact base camp near Minnehaha Creek and hike the trail through the wildflowers to work sites each day.

Preregistration is required. Visit http://www.cmc.org/stewardship for more information.
