Cody Wille not suspect in video store burglary

Aspen Times Staff Report

A story in the Dec. 8 Aspen Times incorrectly identified Cody Wille as a participant in a burglary of the Take 2 Video store on July 4, 1999.

Wille was not present at the July 4 burglary, which allegedly was perpetrated by two other local teen-agers, Yuri Ognacevic, 19, and another juvenile who is not being identified by law enforcement authorities, according to court documents filed by Deputy District Attorney Lawson Wills.

Wille, who at 17 would normally be considered a minor in the eyes of the law, has been charged as an adult in connection with a crime spree last August and September in the Aspen and Snowmass Village area.

A total of 12 defendants have been charged with a variety of crimes stemming from the crime spree, including armed robbery, car theft and burglary.

The Aspen Times apologizes for the error.
