Cody was a beacon of light

Dear Editor:

With so much sadness and so much love expressed over the loss of Cody Decker, I feel I want to contribute also to this young man’s legacy. He was the dear friend of my youngest daughter and one of our neighbors. It wasn’t long ago that they were teenagers together and being a teenager is difficult on everyone, my daughter included. During those years of trying to navigate difficult emotional terrain, she was truly blessed to have Cody as her friend.

Thanks, Russ, for allowing my daughter the refuge of your home during those days. I always knew she was in good hands in the companionship of you and your sons. Cody was her best buddy, her confidant ” a beacon of light. He was a joy. He struggled in this life more than his share but the boy had a huge heart.

Thanks, Cody Decker, for all you did for us. We love you. You’re in our hearts.
