Closures and delays associated with the Grand Avenue Bridge detour
The past year and a half has flown by. We’ve deconstructed and built a pedestrian bridge, built half a traffic bridge, completed a massive utility project, improved eight interstate ramps and improved two roundabouts in Glenwood Springs.
Now, in the final days leading up to the Grand Avenue Bridge detour, we are going full-speed with many traffic impacts and lots of construction activities.
LAUREL STREET CLOSURE
From 8 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Laurel Street at the intersection of Sixth Street will be closed. Motorists wishing to access Laurel should use Linden or Maple streets. Crews are working a storm drain connection across Colorado 82.
NINTH STREET CLOSURES
From 8 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Tuesday, Ninth Street from Cooper to Grand avenues will be closed. From 8 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Ninth Street from Colorado to Grand avenues will be closed. Crews are working on installing new traffic signals along the Colorado 82 corridor.
CO-82 NIGHTLY LANE CLOSURES
Periodically, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Colorado 82 from 10th Street to the GA bridge will be in an alternating one-lane configuration. The traffic signals will go dark, and flaggers will be in the area directing traffic.
EXIT 116 DELAYS
A one-lane closure from Colorado 82 at Interstate 70 Exit 116 to Ninth Street will be in place throughout July. Daytime traffic delays are expected throughout this area. Work includes new I-70 Exit 116 interchange and work on the new abutment for the traffic bridge.
EXIT 116 EASTBOUND ON-RAMP CLOSURES
The I-70 Exit 116 eastbound on-ramp will be closed from 5:30-9 a.m., Monday through Friday. For I-70 eastbound access, motorists are advised to use westbound I-70 to Exit 114 and turn around at the interchange.
