Clean up the Fryingpan

PITKIN COUNTY ” Roaring Fork Valley residents and visitors are being asked to participate in a river cleanup Saturday.
The Roaring Fork Conservancy is hosting the 11th annual Fryingpan River Cleanup from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers of all ages are needed. Participants will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Lions Park in Basalt to start with a free breakfast. Then they will pick up trash along a 1-mile stretch of the river. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Trash, Most Toxic, Most Useful and Most Unusual.
Volunteers should wear gloves, long pants, a hat and sunscreen. In case the event is rained out, the make-up date is May 2. See http://www.roaringfork.org/cleanup for more information.
