Clark’s Market steps up for Aspen Community School

ASPEN – A local grocer has lined up his support for Aspen Community School.

Tom Clark, of Clark’s Market, has pledged to donate 1 percent of total sales through Friday to the Community School, which is nearing the May 1 deadline to raise $4.9 million.

If the school meets its goal, it will receive a state grant of $4.2 million. So far, the charter school has raised $4.17 million. The grant will help the school meets its overall goal of raising $11.6 million by 2014. The funds would go toward the construction and renovation of the charter school’s campus.
