City helping small businesses

Dear Editor:

Dear Mr. Norman (obviously not a business owner in town): Thank you for your incorrect response to my original letter. I did not state at any time that my concern was for the winter with propping open our doors. In fact, we do not prop our door open during the winter, as you would know if you ever came to the store. And we would love to have you drop by! We do, however, open it during the summer and offseasons (when the heat is off). Rather, if you read the entire letter, my concern is that yet again the city and council are trying to control things they should not approach. My concern is that it is difficult to run a business here, and I as a business owner prefer that the city work with us instead of against us. In fact, according to today’s paper, it is doing just that! It plans to help out the small businesses instead of making things harder. It plans to put together a packet with all the info you need to run a business here. It plans to have a place we can go to learn what we need to know to run a business, finally! So kudos to the city for trying to help those of us running small businesses here. And if the city would like any input, feel free to come by the Aspen Candy Co. We are happy to help out!
