City Council sponsors water poisoning

Dear Editor:

Banning soda pop would be a lot more effective than adding fluoride to the water. Fluoride is a toxic chemical. It is amazing and unfathomable to me that a place like Aspen that is so into being healthy, eating organic, living the mountain lifestyle and being ecologically conscious would choose to add a toxic chemical to the naturally great water that comes from our mountains. I am sure it is worth getting bone cancer, messing up your thyroid and hurting your IQ to save your teeth. Bad decision, folks!

Poisoning our bodies to save a few teeth is idiotic. If you want fluoride in your diet, why not swallow your toothpaste after you brush your teeth? You wouldn’t do that, and neither would I. Putting it in our water is the same thing!

I will make it a point to vote against every Aspen City Council member who voted to continue adding this toxic chemical to our water! Reduced or not, it is still a poison.
