City, CDOT set session on Main St. projects

Aspen Times Staff

Representatives of the Colorado Department of Transportation and city of Aspen will host an open house on two projects in downtown Aspen this summer.

In May, CDOT will begin resurfacing Main Street (Highway 82) between Riverside Drive and Cemetery Lane. Work in the spring and summer will involve curb and curb ramp improvements; paving will not begin until after Labor Day.

Also in May, the city will restripe Main Street to accommodate an afternoon outbound transit lane. Work on this project will be complete by the end of May.

The public is invited to find out more about the projects and ask questions from 4 to 6 p.m. April 20 in the City Council chambers at Aspen City Hall, 130 S. Galena St.

Details regarding both projects will be available at the open house, and CDOT and city staffers will be available to answer questions.
