Cindy Nicole Feldman Garaj
Aspen, CO Colorado
Born in Philadelphia, Pa. to Marilyn Feldman and Jeffrey David Feldman. Cindy graduated from Hill Top Preparatory School. She later went on to take classes at Colorado Mountain College.
From there she enrolled in the University of New Hampshire where she completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Outdoor Education, doing much of her studies at sea around the world. She attended a NOLS (National Outdoors Leadership School) course and upon completion, having such a positive experience there herself, she came back to lead classes there.
Cindy had a passion for traveling and being in nature, leading her through a life of adventure. She worked on a fishing boat in Alaska, was a Forest Ranger in the Grand Canyon, farmed on a garlic farm in New Zealand and did a Livnot in Israel. To deepen her private practice and her teaching in yoga, she traveled the United States as well as to India to study.
In the Roaring Fork Valley, Cindy’s presence became well known in her community. Her love of teaching others grew. She worked as a ski instructor for the Aspen Skiing Co. and ACES (Aspen Center for Environmental Studies) brought her on as a naturalist. One of her biggest accomplishments was co-founding Aspen Health and Harmony in El Jebel where she brought her knowledge of yoga and massage to help others. In December of 2001, Cindy along with Aspen Health and Harmony participated in forming a volunteer group to massage and support the athletes in the 24 Hours of Aspen ski race. Here, Cindy met and feel in love with her husband Peter Garaj. They had since moved to Jupiter, Florida.
