Here is a listing of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services at local churches:

The Aspen Chapel has scheduled four services for Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24: A Children’s Service is planned for 5:30 p.m.; a Family Service at 7:30 p.m., a Worship Service at 9:30 p.m. and a Communion Service at 11:30 p.m. The Chapel will also hold its regular Sunday Service at 9:30 a.m. The Aspen Chapel is an interfaith chapel and is located at the roundabout intersection of Highway 82 and Castle Creek Road on the west edge of Aspen. 925-7184.

Aspen Community United Methodist Church has several Christmas events planned. On Sunday, services are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and a Candlelight Service of lessons and carols begins at 7 p.m. Christmas Morning Celebration of Christ’s birth begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday. 200 E. Christ Episcopal Church will have Christmas Eve services at 5, 8:30 and 11 p.m. In addition the church will have a Sunday morning communion service at 9 a.m. There will be one service on Christmas Day at 10 a.m. 536 W. North St., Aspen. 925-3278.

First Baptist Church is located at 726 W. Francis St. For more information, call 925-7828.

Messiah Lutheran Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Sunday and a Christmas Day service at 9:30 a.m. Monday. 1235 Mountain View Dr., off Cemetery Lane, Aspen. 925-7725.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church has a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and midnight mass beginning with carols at 11:30 p.m. On Christmas Day, mass will be at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Located at Main and Hunter streets, Aspen. 925-7339.

Snowmass Village

Snowmass Chapel has five services on Christmas Eve: Protestant services are at 9 a.m., 7 p.m., 9 p.m., and 11 p.m. Catholic mass is at 5 p.m. On Christmas Day, there will be a Catholic mass at 5 p.m. For more information call 923-5307. Located at the intersection of Brush Creek and Owl Creek roads, next to the fire station, in Snowmass Village.


Basalt Community United Methodist Church will hold Christmas Eve worship services at 6:30 p.m. (Family Christmas Eve), 8 p.m. (lessons and carols), and 11 p.m. (candlelight communion). 200 E. Homestead Dr. in Old Town Basalt. 927-4098.

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will have two services on Christmas Eve. A Children’s Christmas Pageant and Holy Eucharist will begin at 5 p.m. A service with Carols of Christmas and Holy Eucharist begins at 9 p.m. Located at 200 Elk Run. 927-4235.

St. Vincent Catholic Church will hold holiday services in both English and Spanish. On Christmas Eve, there will be a 5 p.m. English service, with caroling beginning at 4:30 p.m., and a Spanish service at 7 p.m. On Christmas Day there will be a 10:30 a.m. service in English and a 7 p.m. service in Spanish. 250 Midland Ave. For more information, call 927-3934.
