Christopher Blaise Polk, 30, of Aspen unexpectedly passed away March 5, 2009 at Buttermilk Ski Resort in Aspen.

Christopher was born June 3, 1978 in San Jose California to Mark Polk and Jeanette (Castaneda) Polk. He married DeAnna Erdelen May 13, 2005 in Glenwood Springs.

Christopher was a pro snowboard instructor, he also served in the Navy for four years after high school. Chris adored being in the outdoors and spent as much free time that was possible there. He was an avid mountain and rock climber, snowboarder, hiker and rafter. He lived life to the fullest. In his free time, you could usually find Chris writing and playing music on his guitar. He will be missed for his infectious smile and good hearted and easy going nature and for trying to be a friend to all who encountered him.

Christopher is survived by his wife and his parents, sisters Arlene and Jenny, and many family members and friends.

A celebration of Christopher’s life will be held March 11, 2009 at 5 p.m. at the Cliffhouse restaurant at the top of Buttermilk Mountain. Lifts will start at 4:30 p.m. to take people up. (Option to bring skis or boards to ride down). The family suggests donations be made to Christopher Blaise Polk memorial fund at US Bank in Glenwood Springs and Aspen.
