Christmas spirit alive and well

Dear Editor:

On Saturday I attended the annual Toys for Tots distribution at Basalt Community United Methodist Church.

It was most heartwarming to observe the love, kindness and caring rendered by community members and volunteers presenting toys to our needy children in the spirit of Christmas. In these difficult economic times, our people reached down deep to provide a very joyful and memorable holiday in the spirit of giving and sharing. Santa helped distribute toys, holiday cookies were enjoyed by all, and children selected presents for their parents to make the day complete. Special thanks to all, especially Pastor Marie Gasau for organizing the event.

Let there be Peace.
