Christine Colette Maggi
Friends and family mourn the passing of Christine Colette Maggi, 38, formerly of Hastings-On-Hudson, N.Y., and longtime Colorado resident. She died Thursday, Sept. 20, after a brief bout with cancer.
Christine graduated from Hastings High School in 1986 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1990. A free spirit who passionately enjoyed the outdoors in her adopted hometown of Aspen, she taught snowboarding and was an avid hiker and mountain biker. Christine worked for The Aspen Times and will be missed by her Aspen Times family.
Christine loved music and worked briefly as a DJ at the Caribou Club in Aspen. Later in life, Christine started to study painting, for which she showed a real aptitude. She loved to spend time with her friends and maintained a lifelong relationship with many of them. Her generous nature will be missed by many.
Christine is the daughter of Yolanta Pierce and the late Gerald Maggi. She is survived by her brother Gerald Maggi and his wife, Maria; brother Eldon Kuszel and his wife, Michele; sister Suzanne Kuszel and her husband, Dan Reich. She will also be remembered by her uncles Robert, Ralph and Philip and their families.
