Children’s parade set
ASPEN – More than 300 children and adults will parade through Aspen Thursday starting at 10 a.m. in front of Boogie’s Diner at 534 E. Cooper Ave.
Kids First, a city of Aspen program that assists working families with child care needs, is spearheading the parade in collaboration with other early-childhood programs in Pitkin County.
The parade ends on the pedestrian-mall area across from the Wheeler Opera House. The annual children’s parade is a showcase for the young children who live in Pitkin County of how important they are to the future of the community, according to a city of Aspen statement.
The parade route will run from Cooper Avenue to Galena Street and along the Hyman Avenue pedestrian mall to the water fountain across from the opera house. May has been declared “Month of the Young Child” in Pitkin County.
