Chicago’s artful BTU guzzler

Dear Editor:

The front page of the Art Section of Thursday’s New York Times had a couple of articles on the Art Institute of Chicago’s addition of a $294 million, quarter-million-square-foot wing dedicated to modern art. If you want to see some glass take a look at this thing.

For some reason the idiots who live there are responding with a good deal of civic pride. No doubt every single citizen of the Windy City can look forward to spending eternity burning in hell for cuddling up to this BTU guzzler.

I’m sure the articles praising this offense to all things good are a whitewash, and the authors are just not mentioning all the letters to the editor and columns saying “Why the hell do we need a museum when we have a lake to look at?”
