Cherrett resigns from Aspen Skiing Co. post
Aspen, CO Colorado
ASPEN – Paul Cherrett resigned as the Aspen Skiing Co.’s senior vice president of hospitality, effective June 10, the company confirmed Monday.
The decision was Cherrett’s; he cited personal reasons, said Skico spokesman Jeff Hanle. Cherrett couldn’t be reached for comment.
Cherrett joined the Skico on April 2, 2007. He oversaw operations at The Little Nell hotel, The Residences at The Little Nell, the Sundeck and the Aspen Mountain Club. He also helped guide the Snowmass Club. He added supervision of the mountain food and beverage division in 2009. He headed the Skico’s effort to purchase the Limelight Lodge and integrate it into the Skico system last year.
“Paul built an exceptional team over the last four years and in spite of his departure, his personal devotion to quality leaves us in a strong position to continue the positive momentum he helped create,” Skico President and CEO Mike Kaplan wrote in a memo last week to Skico senior staff and employees in the hospitality division.
Kaplan will take “direct responsibility” for the hospitality division on an interim basis, his memo said.
