Cheers to the Great Pumpkin
Dear Editor:
We (my husband and I) were driving home from a picnic just past Ruedi yesterday when we spotted a tiny little pumpkin perched on a fence post.
How odd, we thought. Then there were two, and three. By five we were thoroughly into pumpkin-spotting along the Fryingpan ” one after another, on fence posts, electric stations, tucked into rock ledges. Wow ” even on a log in the middle of the river! Big pumpkins, little pumpkins, gourds ” and even one beautiful, ghostly white pumpkin.
What a fun and quirky, sweet and generous thing to do. Thank you for such a joy-filled gesture ” here in the midst of much that is not.
