Cheer on the Speedos |

Cheer on the Speedos

Dear Editor:Yup! Two things I agree with: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and “Aspen must be doing something right!” Barely are my red high-heeled shoes back in the closet from dancing in the mall with all those youngsters over New Year’s Eve when, now it’s time to go barefoot and paint my toenails fire-engine red!I would like to invite Aspen’s entire community, including the mayor, City Council and county commissioners to paint your toenails red, pink, green or spotted. Take the bus out, walk, ski or drive to the newly improved swimming pool at the Aspen Recreation Center.Take your shoes off (no shoes allowed in pool area), wear your summer wear (it’s that warm inside) and cheer as the first-ever Aspen High School/Aspen Speedos swimming and diving team competes against Glenwood Springs at 4 p.m. on Tuesday [today]. It’s free!Get there early. Standing room only.Toni KronbergAspen
