This is in loving memory of our husband, dad, papa and friend, Charles “Jack” Jackson, who passed away Feb. 22, 2012 at the age of 82. Jack was born in McDonald, Kan. to Loris and Alberta (Johnson) Jackson.

Jack is survived by his spicy wife of 51 years, Jonnie; daughters Starla (LeRoy) Spaulding of Silt and Paula (Bill) Inscho of Anchorage Alaska; and Jonnie’s children, Mara Lynn (Gary) Looney, Larry R. Hyrup, Alan (Ellen) Hyrup, Jim (Stephanie) Hyrup and Wayne (Helen) Hyrup. Jack also has 10 adoring grandchildren and an amazing 22 great-grandchildren. Jacks surviving siblings are Virginia Bovee, Jim Stewart, step-sisters Dorothy Scott, Carol Manupella and Maxine Harris. He was preceded in death by his son, Phil, and brother Loris (Shorty) Jackson.

Jack was and accomplished and very well-respected judge for the Appaloosa Horse Association for 25 years. Jack gained much respect and recognition over the years for his judging integrity and knowledge of the horse industry. Jack was a member of the Appaloosa Horse Club for 50 years. He lived and breathed Appaloosa horses and provided most of us with our first horse, tack and riding lessons.

Jack worked for Union Carbide for 24 years. He worked for RFTA 13 years, retiring in 1999.

A viewing will be Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 5-8 p.m. at Farnum Holt Funeral Home; services will be held at the Farnum Holt Chapel in Glenwood Springs on Thursday March 1, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to or
