Charles “Chuck” Adam Smyth died June 19 at his home in Missouri Heights.He was born Dec. 4, 1959, in Baker, Ore., and grew up in Bend, Ore., moving to the Roaring Fork Valley after he graduated from high school in the late 1970s. Smyth had his own hardwood-flooring business; many homes in Aspen and the surrounding valleys reflect his expertise and craftsmanship. He was also an avid golfer and loved to attend bluegrass music festivals around the state.His survivors include Debby, his former wife; daughter Heather and stepson DJ, along with many friends and his faithful dog, Jenny. Smyth is also survived by his mother, Jean, and father, Bob Smyth, of Burns, Ore.; brothers Cory and his family of Hawaii; and Todd of Snowmass.A memorial service will be held at the Church of Carbondale on Thursday at 4 p.m., with a celebration of life following at the American Legion.
