Chapel benefit a hit

Chapel benefit a hitDear Editor:To all the wonderful people who helped make our annual Aspen Chapel benefit a success, I want to say a most hearty thank you. It really takes a village to create such a success. I am grateful to our generous hosts, Perry and Terrie Waughtal, who opened their home for the event and went beyond the call of duty by treating all of the guests to a fabulous brunch. To the community of Aspen and surrounding towns, let me say how very much we appreciate the marvelous auction items for which the guests vied with each other, driving the bidding. Jeannie Walla always brings life to a party. Being her usual vibrant self, she stimulates the crowd to bid beyond their good judgment! Thank goodness! We all enjoy Cathy and the Jazz All Stars who brighten the atmosphere with their delightful music.Of course, I am particularly indebted to the board members and friends of the Chapel who devoted many hours to working on this event. Lastly, for the many benefactors and contributors who support this fund-raiser, I am particularly grateful. Their generous gifts help to make this event possible as well as enabling the Aspen Chapel to continue its service to the community.Harriette Line Thompsonbenefit chair
