Challenging Roger

Dear Editor:In his ongoing struggle to achieve mediocrity on the printed page, Roger Marolt has overreached his modest ability as a writer by tackling the subject of illegal immigration. He appears to have a love affair with these continental trespassers and had allowed an overwhelming sense of compassion and piety to stand in the way of any common sense he may possess. He was taken to task in at least four letters (thoughtfully crafted) and had landed in the hot seat. Roger ran his ideas up the flagpole, but they didn’t hold water. I trust it’s OK to mix metaphors on the rare occasion.I doubt that Roger has the ability or inclination to defend his position. I’m here to test him and assume he’ll respond under his real name should he attempt to do so. His chance with me is that of a turkey with a fox. I give you Hobson’s choice, Roger. The only thing worse is no choice at all.Pete LuhnAspen
