Challenge Aspen, Chabad JCC to host climbing film at Isis Theatre

Challenge Aspen and the Aspen Chabad Jewish Community Center have partnered to show the climbing film “Looking Up” at Isis Theatre on Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
The film is about climber Eitan Armon, who was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa — an incurable, degenerative disease eventually causing him to lose 95% of his vision. Armon learned to climb and ultimately ascended the 1,800 foot, or 16 pitch, rock climb on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California.
The film’s producer, Elena Neuman, will also be at the screening to promote the film and answer questions after the showing with the CEO of Challenge Aspen Lindsay Caglay.
“It just felt like a really great fit to be able to help them (Challenge Aspen) out and to be able to share the film with an Aspen audience, which tends to be an outdoor audience that appreciates, … pushing yourself to take on new challenges,” Neuman said.
The screening is $20 per person, and pre-registration is required. To register, visit give.challengeaspen.org/event/looking-up-film-screening/e708236.
