Censorship by Skico

Dear Editor:

I encourage the Aspen Skiing Co. to reconsider the decision banning Dan Sheridan from performing at Skico-owned venues. If Skico wishes to provide musical entertainment for its patrons that is sure to never offend anyone in anyway, they can buy jukeboxes and program them with songs that have been scrubbed of any meaningful content.

If they wish to hire actual musical artists then they should allow them to express themselves, especially if requested to do so by the very patrons they wish to entertain.

True artists communicate their ideas through their art. Sheridan expressed his political and social beliefs in his song, and for Skico to compare it to filthy lyrics or foul language used by a punk rock band is offensive.
