Castle Creek Trail meeting today

Staff report

The Castle Creek Trail team will host a public community kickoff event at the Pitkin County Library from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today.

“A central goal for the Castle Creek Trail project is to conduct a transparent public process with opportunities for open dialogue and participation from a wide range of stakeholders,” said Gary Tennenbaum, director of Pitkin County Open Space and Trails.

The kickoff event will feature project boards with areas for the community to review project goals, provide insight and observations surrounding the Castle Creek corridor, discuss possible opportunities for improvements and contribute ideas for road corridor safety. The consultant team will be available for questions and will be recording public comments.

A link to the Castle Creek Trail project online community survey is located at Responses will be collected through Sept. 1. All responses will be recorded and will be used to inform and guide the process.

Interested individuals can find more information and sign up for project email updates at http://www.pitkin
