Castle Creek road closure and bridge work in October
Construction work will take place to repair the pedestrian bridge over Castle Creek Road in Aspen on Oct. 26 and 29. The section of Castle Creek Road that will be affected is between Highway 82 and just past the intersection with Marolt Place. Drivers should expect delays on Castle Creek Road both days between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., as the road will be reduced to one lane. A complete road closure on Castle Creek Road will take place Oct. 26 and 29 from 11 a.m. to noon. Pedestrians and bicyclists should expect a minor detour around the bridge and possible delays during these times. A plan has been put in place in case of emergencies. The city is asking drivers to plan accordingly on these days. Questions can be directed to Matt Kuhn, city of Aspen trails manager, at 970-429-2035 or Sara Botkin, Gould Construction project manager, at 970-945-7291, extension 210.
