Carjacker arrested on Interstate 70
Aspen, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colo. ” A man accused of holding a woman and her two children at knifepoint while they drove on Interstate 70 was arrested after the woman slipped a note to a gas station clerk asking for help.
“Call 911 70 W Black Blazer with green trim,” read the note left with a clerk in West Vail on Saturday. The clerk called the Eagle County sheriff’s department, and a deputy pulled the Blazer over a short time later.
Martin Cabadas, 29, was arrested for investigation of false imprisonment and menacing. He was being held in the Eagle County jail under $2,500 bail.
The woman, whose name was not released, told deputies Cabadas approached her in Denver and offered $20 for a ride. She agreed but soon grew uncomfortable and asked him to get out of the vehicle.
He showed a knife and ordered her to keep driving, deputies said. He told her, “We are going to Las Vegas to become a happy family together,” deputies said.
