Carbondale food co-op holds membership drive

CARBONDALE ” Carbondale’s only organic grocery is looking to boost community awareness and support this weekend.

The Carbondale Community Food Co-op is holding a membership drive and offering a 10 percent discount on all new, fully paid memberships over the weekend. The store will also offer prizes, shopping discount coupons and free tastings of locally grown organic food.

Cooperatives are member-owned organizations; by purchasing a membership share, locals have a say in how the store is run and the groceries it offers. Members also receive regular discounts off their purchases.

The co-op is located at 559 Main St.
