Can’t we all support this business?

Dear Editor:Isn’t there enough divisiveness in this world, let alone within nations, political parties and communities?I have been spending time in Aspen since my first summer playing with the Music Festival in 1993. One of my earliest fond discoveries was Explore Booksellers. Just as I recently realized a dream-come-true by buying a condo here so I could plan a future life in Aspen full-time, I was devastated to learn Explore might be no more! While my political leanings are apparently leftward of the Wylys’, I fervently believe we must cherish every sentiment, idea, and value on which we overlap, rather than quibbling over our differences. To that end, I salute and thank the generous family who has enabled that increasingly rare breed – the independent bookstore – to continue to flourish in Aspen, which should be the one place on earth such a gem ought to be able to survive.Martha AaronsAspen
