Can’t ignore the mayor
April 30, 2003
I have heard some in town suggest that there is no reason to vote for Terry Paulson for mayor because he is already on council. I am writing in response to this point of view.
Because Terry’s core values are seen as immutable, he has many times been frozen out of debate by the City Council. They hold meetings without him and he is not part of the backroom dealings between individual council members. His ability to influence other council members and express his views is compromised.
As mayor he cannot be ignored, no matter who else is elected. In his public appearances, Terry has presented himself as reasonable, respectful and responsible. These are qualities which make a great mayor.
I urge you to vote for Terry Paulson.
