Candidates for a Darwin Award

With respect to the March 21 article, “Maroon Bowl survivors taken to task,” I was so impressed by the achievement of the lads that I forwarded a summary of Mr. Gardner-Smith’s excellent article to DarwinAwards.Com, where it will be amongst kindred spirits.

Naturally the committee cannot award the prestigious annual prize to them as they survived the experience, stayed in the gene pool and are therefore disqualified. Nonetheless, it was an impressive effort and an honorable mention would be quite a feather in their caps.

Better luck next time guys, and let’s all drink a toast to culling the herd!
