Calling all yogis

Dear Editor:

That Aspen Yoga Society and the Shakti Foundation, in collaboration with AREDay, are offering a donation-based yoga class at Paepcke Park from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday to support a variety of important local and global causes.

This gathering helps to create a strong, vibrant and active community. The most amazing yoga teachers, Aaron King and Ashley Turner, are teaching, and Jan Garrett, J.D. Martin, Chris Phillip (aka Biff) and Eden Vardy are playing music. This is a day to come together as one. Please join us one and all.

Yoga in Action Day supports and honors the “Off the Mat Into the World Yoga Votes” campaign, the “Off The Mat Into the World” Global Seva Challenge to eradicate sex slavery worldwide, the 3Generations campaign to eradicate sex slavery and the documentary “10,000 Men,” the Thompson Divide Coalition to stop drilling in Thompson Divide, the Cambodian Children’s Fund, AREDay and more.

Last year, we had more than 130 people come together in solidarity. This year, we are hoping for a bigger turnout. Please join us. Thank you to King Yoga, O2 Aspen, Aspen Club and le Cercle in Basalt for closing their studios Sunday morning to support Yoga in Action Day.

Be the change you wish to see.

Gina Murdock
