Calling all dog and animal lovers

Dear Editor:

I am writing on behalf of a dear friend, Ollie Bode, who needs all of our support and donations to save the kennel and the ranch.

After 18 years of boarding and kenneling dogs and cats, and 15 years of housing rescued cats, dogs, goats and horses, she needs our financial help more than ever to keep Alpine Meadows Kennel from going into foreclosure in May.

I am asking everyone who has ever gone through Lisa Johnson’s puppy class or private lessons with Doggone Obedience Training, everyone who ever has boarded their pets with Ollie and everyone who ever has adopted an animal from Animal Rescue Foundation or Valley Dog Rescue to please show your support by either donating or attending our fundraiser.

The fundraiser will be at the Orchard/Gathering Center on Snowmass Drive in Carbondale from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on April 14. There will be a free dog training seminar as well as a veterinarian, dog chiropractor and nutritionist available to answer questions.

Enter our raffle to win either a year’s supply of pet food from RJ Paddywacks, a Tiffany reproduction lamp, a fresh frozen turkey from the ranch or Ollie’s famous cheesecake.

Please show your support, and let’s all give back to Ollie just a fraction of all the love, support and hard work she has given over the years to all of the animals.

Lisa Johnson
