Calderon advocates green
Dear Editor:
Tuesday’s Aspen Times article accurately represents Aspen Skiing Co.’s lighting retrofit program. But I wouldn’t want readers to get the wrong impression of my friend Eric Calderon. While he did reject fluorescent lighting at the Nell 10 years ago because of legitimate ambiance concerns (he says I trashed him for having good taste), he’s now become a leading advocate of green at Auberge Resorts, even commissioning his own energy audits and exploring new LED lighting.
I might have educated him a bit on energy efficiency, but he taught me more about business and the real world. I’d work with him anytime.
